Caring for Cachet

How to Care for Cachet

Keep your Cachet pieces looking new with a few simple habits. Cachet uses premium finishes like 18k gold plating and rhodium plating. Proper care preserves the shine and extends the life of the finish.

Everyday Do’s

  • Put jewelry on last after lotion, perfume, hairspray, sunscreen, and body spray have fully dried.
  • Wipe pieces with a soft, dry, lint-free cloth after each wear to remove skin oils and residue.
  • Store pieces separately in a pouch or box to prevent rubbing and scratches.
  • Keep items dry. If they get damp, pat dry right away and let them air dry fully before storing.

Keep Away From

  • Water, steam, and humidity. Remove Cachet before showering, swimming, saunas, or workouts.
  • Chemicals and cleaners. Avoid contact with hand sanitizer, cleaning sprays, bleach, and chlorine.
  • Beauty products on the skin beneath the jewelry. Apply products first, let them absorb, then put on pieces.
  • Rough activity that could bend or scratch delicate chains and settings.

How to Clean

Use a gentle, product-free approach.

  1. Use a soft, dry, lint-free cloth to gently buff the surface.
  2. For a little extra buildup, very lightly dampen the cloth with plain water, wipe, then dry immediately.
  3. Do not use jewelry dips, ultrasonic cleaners, polishing compounds, toothpaste, or abrasive cloths. These can damage the plated finish.

Smart Storage

  • Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and humidity.
  • Use individual pouches or a lined jewelry box to prevent tangling and friction.
  • When traveling, keep each piece in its own soft pouch or a compartmented case.

Skin Sensitivity Tips

  • If you are sensitive to metals, keep pieces dry and clean after each wear.
  • A clear barrier like a jewelry-safe protectant can be applied to contact points if needed. Reapply as directed.

Troubleshooting

Dulled shine: Wipe with a soft, dry cloth. Make sure products and moisture aren’t trapped on the surface.

Discoloration from moisture or products: Dry completely, then buff gently. Review the “Keep Away From” list to prevent repeat exposure.

Snagged or bent chain: Stop wearing the piece and store safely. Contact us for repair or replacement options if applicable.

Important

Cachet’s premium plated finishes will last longest when contact with moisture, chemicals, friction, and rough handling is minimized. Daily habits make the difference.
